Ile d’Yeu is a small Vendée paradise that can be reached by boat after parking your car in a secure parking lot in the Fromentine town center at La Barre-de-Monts (opposite Noirmoutier). You can choose either the Blanchard or Bodin parking lots. From here, you can take one of the daily ferry services to the port of Fromentine. The crossing to Ile d’Yeu takes 45 minutes. You’ll find online the timetables of the ferry services to Iled’Yeu, as well as the possibility of booking your tickets.

On theIle d’Yeu and in the nearby town of Notre-Dame-de-Monts, where the Clos du Bourg campsite is located, you can enjoy a wide range of water sports in complete freedom. Fishing is a pleasure that lets you discover the island’s finest fish. On the quays of Port Joinville, a variety of seafood products are landed. You’ll have the chance to sample dishes made with hake, sea bream and other delicious shellfish. What’s more, you can hire the equipment you need to make :

Ile d’Yeu is famous for its Côte Sauvage, between the Pointe du But and the Pointe des Corbeaux, which are also must-sees. The rocky, granite Côte Sauvage can be explored on foot or by bike, where you can discover its treasures in detail. Don’t miss a visit to the Grand Phare, the Vieux Château and the little Port de la Meule, dominated by the Chapelle Notre-Dame-de-Bonne-Nouvelle. After the Pointe des Corbeaux, you can admire the dune environment, dominated by maritime pine forests. Nearby, you’ll find a marsh home to several magnificent bird species.
